VAVlab member Gürkan Aydemir has successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled "Machine Health Monitoring for Cyber–Physical Systems" on May 28, 2020.

Gürkan Aydemir has successfully defended his PhD thesis on machine learning based machinery prognostics (more specifically, the remaining useful life  - RUL -estimation). Dr. Aydemir's thesis proposes solutions to three distinct yet related problems of Industry 4.0: Avoiding the ill-posedness of RUL during healthy operation, eliminating the destructive effects of varying operating conditions on RUL estimation and exploiting imagery for RUL estimation.
